The end of puppetry & a return to London
Well dear reader, after what seems like no time
at all, puppetry finished this week. With another six shows this week it was
still very busy, but we've been very lucky with the weather so the Sun has
helped us all along I think. Come Wednesday evening and goodbyes started to be
said (mainly the designers, stage management were too busy starting the
get-out). Thursday was an early start as we headed back to Dyffryn to clear up
everything else. Surprisingly by mid-afternoon all was clearer up, this ending
another successful year of puppetry. It’s been good to do it again, and I shall
very much miss puppetry next year. Friday was spent catching up on normal life
(oh the joys) and more importantly helping Jess move.
Saturday was a very early start (even by puppetry
standards) as Jess and I disappeared off to London (the first time for 10 weeks
in my case and the first time in five years for Jess). We started in
Westminster, looking at the sights, popped in for an autograph at an event
(what a coincidence!). We met the delightful Pik-Sen Lim and caught up with
Peter Craze which was nice. Afterwards we went to return tickets for 'School of
Rock' as we couldn't get back in time after the evening show, only to find that
they happily swapped them for brilliant seats in the middle, half way back! The
show was fantastic, such a spectacle and a lot of fun! We also explored
Leicester Square, Buckingham Palace and the South Bank (yes we walked, I think
I exhausted Jess too much). After a long and very busy day we returned to Cardiff
late at night, having both enjoyed ourselves. As ever Sunday was a far quieter
day (I think we both needed it!)
