Another month, another Chiswick
Well October seems to be flying by, or maybe that’s just me
and with it a return to Chiswick. As ever an early start, however without Marty
and Gary there (they went to see Cher instead which I think is excusable),
there was no breakfast for us, but then a little bit of a lie-in is always a
good think. With a few a few fewer helpers than normal I expected it to be a
busy day for us (Kit is well and truly part f the team now), however it all
felt very relaxed, despite it being busy as ever. For once I was shouting (for
photo queues, not just in general), but got to sit with lots of guests briefly
which I think was in some ways nicer. This event more than most seemed to be
full of friends (in terms of the guests), so really there was a lot of catching
up which was lovely. For once there was someone that Kit wanted to watch as
well (that’s a first). She had volunteered to sit though one Doctor Who a few
months ago and I chose the McGann film, of which the companion was there so she
was very excited. With it being a long week for us both we headed straight back
for a change, rather than venturing to the pub. For once it wasn’t such a long
day because of that.
Sunday (following the Cher theme), the clocks were turned
back so I seemed to gain an hour and very productive it was too, so that by the
time Kit got up I’d achieved far more than usual. As has become something of a
norm now, Sunday was quieter, spent cracking on with bits and pieces. Although
most importantly it was her Dad’s birthday so we spent the evening with him,
chatting and enjoying a chippy tea, with cake of course! It made for a great
end to the weekend, as it is always nice to see him and natter away.
