Cake and more cake!
Following last weekend’s theme, this weekend seemed to be much
the same, very relaxed, and not overly busy.
Saturday was a return trip to see Jenny and Steve, as they
were doing a bring and buy sale in this garden. I was amazed, just how busy it was
and how much had been brought in by friends and family (Kit found far more than
I did to bring along). Having got there mid-morning we thought we’d be there a
few hours, have a nose around and a cuppa before heading off. However, we ended
up staying there all day as we somehow became entertainment for the kids (well
feeding the swans for most of the day), but the day seemed to fly by. We then
headed into town to The Pheasantry for an evening of Clive Rowe, singing Neat
King Cole. Having seen him only a few weeks ago, it was great to see him on his
own, for his own evening of jazz, which as you’d expect was entertaining and
great to be part of (and the pizza was great). Whilst it became a late night,
it was certainly worth it.
Sunday was initially quite a mystery to us both, as we had
no idea what we wanted to do. We ended up in Marlborough, going for a wander, but
more important some incredible cake in Polly’s Tea Room (worth a visit). For a
Sunday most of the shops were open so we had a good spend certainly.
