Busy in Bristol
Maybe this week’s title is a little misleading, but I was
struggling for ideas if I’m honest. Anyway, by any standards it was a quiet
weekend this week, with work as ever keeping me busy.
Having been in Bristol for work I popped into to see Marty
and Gary on Friday which was lovely, or dinner and a natter as it had been so
long since we’d last done that (Bristol trip, one). However, Saturday was spent
in Cardiff pottering around the city centre, shopping (which wasn’t too
painful, thank you Kit), and just enjoying not doing a lot (we even had time
for a sit-down meal!). It really was very relaxing, and made me think I should
do it more often in all honesty.
Having said that Sunday couldn’t have been busier as we were
back to Bristol (Bristol trip, two). We met up with Marty and Gary at a little
event in Clifton. Marty and I were only going to be half an hour, so Kit and
Gary went shopping. Four hours later we met up with Kit and Gary again (oops).
Marty and I had a lovely time, chatting to friends and guests, just in general
nattering away and having a laugh and it seems that Kit and Gary did the same,
so it worked out nicely for everyone. We then went our separate ways, and Kit
and I explored Bristol Zoo. I’d been seeing signs for it all week so it was
nice to actually see where they led ad in fact it is a great zoo. Maybe not massive,
but still a fair size and with all sorts of animals, in particular the all-important
turtles. Now you may think that was the end f the day, but no. We then went
cross Bristol to see Marty and Gary again, to be joined by one of the other
helpers from Fantom and his girlfriend for dinner. It was great to have a few
of the Fantom team together socially and to be able to enjoy an evening together,
without the pressure of an event, which I think left us all realising that we
should do it more often (maybe that was just me).
