Turtle spotting up North
Now you may not think that the title makes much sense dear
reader as to my knowledge turtles are not native to the north of England, but I
may be wrong. Away, that aside, we headed up north on Friday for a weekend up
north.
Saturday was a busier than expected day, as at last I showed
Kit home without dashing around, before heading off to Blue Planet (home of
turtles in the north). Having been to Bristol which was much smaller I think
Kit was more than just a little impressed with it all, although there was only
one turtle. The three of us, Dad, Kit and I, made quite a day of it, particularly
as I think Dad and I had forgotten quite how good a day out it is. Having spent
most of the day rediscovering Blue Planet, the day had flown by and it was soon
time to head back for a birthday tea as it was Dad’s birthday on Tuesday (I was
far too excited about this). As it was the first time in quite a while that we
had all been together, we ended up watching ‘Back to the Future 2’, which I
have to say is just as good as the first, so I am hopeful for the third.
Sunday was relaxed, but a little less so. Leaving Kit in bed,
Dad and I ventured across to Stoke for ‘Stoke CON Trent’, having not been for
ages. Having initially thought there would be someone who Kit wanted to meet,
it ended u just being one person that I wanted to meet (no surprise there
then), but Dad and I had a lovely time chatting to Paul McGann. It was then off
to Telford, via Shrewsbury for Kit and I. At long last I caught up with George
and Jane Little, evening managing to do an interview with George for the radio
show which was nice. Kit joined us in Telford for a rather good Indian, making
for a very chatty and funny end to the weekend.
