A tale of four cities (I'm so witty)
Well dear reader after a busy weekend I
returned to London, Monday morning to stay with Peter. Whilst there were a few
challenges getting there we met and went for our usual pizza and catch-up
before heading back to the flat. Time spent with Peter is always very relaxing
and leisurely which is nice. Tuesday we popped put for lunch again and spotted
Brian Miller (google him) before heading to the cinema. However when we got
there we realized that there wasn't much of interest on sadly, so had a very
nice cup of tea and cake in Notting Hill which was very sophisticated (the cafe
not me). However come Wednesday afternoon and I headed back up north, feeling very
relaxed.
Thursday was another train journey, this
time to Birmingham for a catch-up with Brian (avid readers I don't need to
remind you who he is, do I?). Anyway we met at our usual spot, the Edwardian
Tearooms and had a lovely lunch, followed by tea and cake (there's a pattern
emerging) talking about what we've both been up to which is always lovely. We
were there for most of the day which was unexpected but enjoyable none the
less.
I visited another city on Friday, this time
Manchester. We (Mum, Dad and Helen) all went to see 'Twelfth Night' at the
Exchange. Having never seen it before I knew nothing of the plot or what to
expect but really enjoyed it. It was a modern setting and surprisingly funny
and beautifully designed. Afterwards (yep, you guessed it dear reader) we stage
doored (still a verb) and met Anthony Calf who was very nice.
