The end of term (at last!)
I think I should perhaps give up on apologising for taking too long to update this, as it seems the norm these days. Anyway, as you may have guessed, this week has marked the end of the term (about time). From a college point of view, it meant a presentation (which everyone got unnecessary stressed about for some reason) and feedback (turns out I can actually create an effective lighting design which was a shock).
Friday evening, Jess and I ventured across Cardiff to the Tramshead for an evening of jazz (I know, very sophisticated) from the legendary Courtney Pine. We got there a little early (you'd be proud Dad), but we now know that next time we can eat there, so shall do that. The venue itself was very nice, a lovely open space with very good acoustics. Mr Pine was on fine form indeed and very entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed it, although I'm not sure it was quite Jess's cup of tea, we'll have to see.
Saturday I headed up north for the holidays. Before that however I had a catch-up with Emma who I lived with last year, having not really spoken for ages.
With the end of term comes shows, so thus week we went to see the Musical Review. Now I'll be honest here dear reader it was pretty terrible last year, and it’s not really my sort of thing. However, Sam, who I live with, is the LD (google it) so I had to go. As a result his mum, Julie, came down Monday and we all, Sam, Prem, Jess and I had dinner with her which was lovely. As always a lot of laughs (imagine that said by Cilla Black) and a nice chance to catch-up with Sam as he's been on different hours for the last six weeks. Tuesday we all, with the addition of George and Joe, and Joe's family, went to the musical review. As I expected I knew none of the songs but enjoyed it none the less and surprisingly it was really not that bad! Afterwards we all went for a pizza which was lovely as I've not seen Joe's family since Les Mis. The rest of the week was quieter as Julie returned home, sadly.
