A quiet weekend (for a change)
For a change I spent a day in Cardiff on Saturday (who’d
have thought). Perhaps I should backtrack a little. Friday night was our wrap
party despite us having another two weeks of filming. It was lovely to see everyone
and for once not have to dash off to do something mid-conversation. Thankfully
it wasn’t too much of a late night so I was still able to enjoy my weekend as
well as celebrating on Friday.
Saturday as I say was a quiet day, very productive though
before I headed back to college to see ‘Rage’ at college. It was nice to catch-up
with Emma beforehand and to be back in college (I never thought I’d say that
about college). It was another Simon Stephens (they really do like his work),
but for aching it felt very different and contemporary. Quite how the cast
could do it for an entire run I don’t know as it was very physical, very full
on, but great to watch. Afterwards it was great to catch-up with the cast and
crew.
Having had a quiet day in Cardiff, Sunday had to be a trip
out of Wales as I can’t sit still for that long so I popped across to Wimbledon
for the day to catch-up with the ever delightful Renu Setna, who kindly invited
me over for lunch. We chatted for most of the day as well as Renu showing me something
of the area, as I can’t say I know Wimbledon at all (apart from walking through
it late at night one day, but that’s another story). After a relaxing and
lovely day I headed back to Cardiff after (as ever), a relaxing and what felt
like a very long weekend.
