New Year
Happy New Year dear reader! It’s been a bit of an odd week,
but a good one never the less.
As was the case last week, I caught up on many 80s films
which I had somehow not seen, but also spent a good few days colouring (yes I
know dear reader, I am about five, but I’m easily pleased). Alongside all this
I was gradually packing for my return to college, so there were a lot of trips
out for ‘little bits and pieces’.
Having left college, where they were doing ‘Into the Woods’ (dear
reader I hope you didn’t just sing that), on Wednesday I saw it at the Exchange
in Manchester. Having not been the greatest fan of the film I had mixed
feelings going to see it, but never the less the songs were upbeat and
enjoyable, with a very interesting set design. I think I was perhaps more taken
with the technical elements of the production, than the acting its self, but I
am glad to have seen it.

New Year’s Eve was perhaps the highlight of the week, as we
(Mum, Dad and I) went to the Bridgewater Hall (I know, very fancy) for an
evening of James Bond music. It was quite something to hear the iconic themes
and music played by a full orchestra! Having enjoyed hearing the music, I want
to go back and watch all of the Bond Films, particularly as I realize there are
still one or two that I am yet to see. Then the icing on the Bond themed cake
was that I managed to get a Doctor Who autograph (I’m always keeping an eye out
dear reader). This evening it was a lovely lady called Judy Holt aka Sandra
Mitchell from ‘The Long Game’ (Lesley Kerkshaw in ‘Coronation
Street’). I was surprised to see her and I think she was a little surprised
when I spoke to her, but she was delightful none the less. However (yes the
plot thickens!) whilst she wrote me a very nice message, she didn’t actually
sign it, but never mind I’m glad to have unexpectedly met her.
New Year’s Day was the day I returned to Cardiff. I seemed
to bring back more than I took (those ‘little bits and pieces mounted
up!). I was soon back into my old routines (wandering round and faffing about
mainly), before I start back on Monday.
