Wandering off to Cardiff & Dad wanders

| My last view of the Vic before I left |
Monday was spent at the New Vic, on my final de-rig for a while. I was pleased to be able to fit one in before I left. By all accounts DGM went well (looks like they didn't actually need me after all!). It was great to see everyone again, and meet some of the new casual technicians. However, it wasn't really my day, as I ended up rigging the lighting plan back to front (what an idiot!), but bar that it was uneventful thankfully.
The main focus of this week (I wrote this as I went along, so this was last week) has been wandering off to Cardiff to start uni. Tuesday was thus spent packing (such fun), and actually leaving Wednesday morning. I would have got there quicker had the driver (not naming anyone Mum) put the right postcode in for my accommodation (unless I was supposed to be living in an industrial site, in which case there was no error). By midday I was in and making a mess as I unpacked, with my new flat mates (poor unfortunate people) gradually arriving. By the end of the day I was happy (unpacked) and had met all bar two of my flat. In true student style the first night was spent in the pub (wait and see how long I can keep this up, you'll be impressed!).
Thursday was the first of many wanders around Cardiff, with various flat mates (victims) as I claimed to know the city (based on various filming locations). With the last two flat mates in, we had to go to the pub again (two days and counting!).
Having been in Cardiff almost two days it was about time I visited the Doctor Who Experience (I'm amazed I waited that long!). It was great to see a few new bits and bobs and to see a beautifully sunny bay (a rarity!). Having spent more in the shop, than to het in, I wandered around the bay and headed back, ready to go to the pub (three nights and counting!).

| What a muppet! |
Sunday was (believe it or not) another Dad wander (pub nights lasted for three days, rubbish student award goes to me). The flat seemed to like me and I like them so all is good (until they talk during Doctor Who!). We've got three stage managers and three designers, so its a nice mix.
Here endeth the week. This would have been posted earlier, however technology let me down. I quickly discovered that in accommodation I had no phone signal (actually I've just been ignoring everyone) so moved to EE on Sunday evening, but it took a week for my number to move. Then Sunday morning my laptop stopped booting up (I had to read a book!). Thus, I was delayed with this post, I hope my huge readership wasn't too upset (don't worry Mum).
