Filming & Shada
Well I am finally up to date with my
entries (sorry for the delay, although I'm not sure if anyone is still reading
this).
The last few weeks have been filming weeks
on Acting for Screen and thus I've been stupidly busy on long days, but has
been great fun! Week one was spent with the BA2 actors and two directors whilst
this week has been with a third director and the MA actors. It was rather sad
when we all went our separate ways on Friday evening, but I hope all involved
enjoyed it (I certainly did, and learnt a lot). Over the last few weeks I've
had the pleasure of watching Cardiff wake-up which I found was strangely
calming, even on cold frosty mornings.
However the end of filming meant my
Saturday was free to disappear to London for a screening of Shada at the BFI,
the infamous cancelled Tom Baker story. It was great to see the combination of
what was filmed with animation brought together with authentic model shots and
music. The screening included a great Q&A from both the cast as well as
those involved in the latest version, which was fantastic! In particular it was
a great surprise to meet Tim Bentinck (of Archers fame), as he had been the
stand-in for Tom Baker in the new footage.
