A busy week of festive wanders

Despite Christmas approaching my week hasn't really revolved around the big day. Monday evening saw Mum and I wander off to the Bridgewater Hall to see Katherine Jenkins (she was performing, we didn't just pop across for a coffee with her). Having no real idea of what to expect we both thoroughly enjoyed it and left feeling very festive. We even got to sing two songs with her (so did everyone else there, but it doesn't sound very impressive if I say that bit as well). Now as I'm sure some of you have probably guessed by now, Katherine Jenkins was in Who. On the off chance that she wouldn't be too long coming out we waited a short while and believe it or not, she did. I had a lovely chat with her about the concert and of course Who, which was an unexpected surprise; she was lovely.

With Christmas approaching I seemed to spend the entirety of Tuesday baking, which I always find very relaxing (and it all tasted pretty good, if I say so myself). With baking completed, I went for a further wander on Wednesday, as Dad and I wandered off to Birmingham to see 'Dick Whittington' (panto number one). For some reason I was surprised just how busy Birmingham was (I must have forgotten it was nearly Christmas). The panto was fantastic, no expense spared with a fantastic cast: John Barrowman, Jodie Prenger, the Krankies and Phil (off of Eastenders). All were on fine form and had us laughing out loud!

See what I mean, quite a cast!

'The Snow Queen' wasn't quite a panto, more of a festive show, but that marked Thursday's wander. Having not been to the Vic for a while it was good to be back, watching a show there, admittedly very different to the panto, but still very feel good and festive. As luck would have it, I found myself back at the Vic the following day for a catch-up with my old Drama teacher over dinner. I think it had been about 12 weeks since we last chatted so we had a lot to say and it seems that as ever we are both rather busy!

Friday marked the build up to Christmas properly as my grandparents arrived, with my aunt arriving on Saturday. With the house full of family Sunday was a busy day, full of family and food making for a very happy day. As I think you can see dear reader, it’s been a very busy week not just because of Christmas; Merry Christmas dear reader!
