Away in Tenby

Unlike most entries dear reader for one there was no shows, so signings or events, simply a weekend away (that really is a first).

Saturday morning, Kitty and I headed west (I can't think I ever go on that direction). Our first stop on our weekend away was a lovely little zoo, just outside Saundersfoot. Surprisingly it wasn't busy, but that was nice for us as we could enjoy it at our leisure. Whilst it wasn't a big place it had tigers and rhinos, as well as the smaller animals that you'd expect. Having spent most of the day there, we wandered over to Saundersfoot for a walk along the beach (not in the sea, sorry Dad). Surprisingly most of the day had already gone so we checked into our hotel (well more of a fancy B&B) and finally made it to Tenby for tea. Now we could have gone somewhere fancy, but instead we went to a rather good chippy (thanks to Kitty's knowledge of the area) following by a walk through the town and along the beach (still not on the sea). After a busy day, spent mainly by the sea, we headed back to the hotel, both rather exhausted.

Sunday was a slow start (makes a change), with a nice cooked breakfast before we ventured back to Tenby, now that it was open. Having wandered through the streets the night before it already felt very familiar. In true tourist style we wandered in and out of most shops and seemed to buy an awful lot as well. Against Kitty's knowledge of the area was handy for lunch. Having explored most of Tenby we made our way back to Saundersfoot for a last cuppa and a wander, before heading back East. As you can see, it wasn't an overly busy weekend, but then I think we both enjoyed a quiet few days by the sea.
