A weekend at home
As I write this Jess and I are heading back
to Cardiff after a lovely weekend up north, so perhaps I shall write this post
in reverse (order of events that is not actually backwards). Jess and I popped
up north Friday evening and after a welcome lie-in enjoyed a relaxed day at
home before heading into Manchester for a lovely meal at Home (the place)
before a wander around the Christmas markets.
Quite by chance they opened on Thursday so it was perfectly timed and
far bigger than I remember. I think it was also much bigger than Jess expected
so they went down very well.
We went to see 'Jubilee' at the Exchange,
which was a wonderfully bold and topical play, based on the film. I went having
no clue what to expect, but it was brilliant, very provocative and thought
provoking (although I don't think Mum enjoyed it). As ever we stage doored (yet
still a verb), a delightful actress by the name of Sophie Stone, who was
fantastic in the show and who couldn't have been nicer!Sunday was fairly quiet enjoying a relaxing lie in and a walk around the mere, before a belated Party Tea for Jess which hopefully was an unexpected surprise for her.
In contrast, the rest of the week was very uneventful indeed, sorting out schedules and locations for filming in a few weeks.
