Christmassy doings
I’ll start
this week’s post by wishing you a Merry Christmas dear reader, even if it is a
little late.

It’s been
another week home from Cardiff, but I can’t say that I’ve done an awful lot,
which has been very relaxing. From what I can remember I’ve watched a lot of
films (Jurassic World, Back to the Future, Carry On, The Muppets, Arthur
Christmas etc.) and read a few books (I know dear reader I am amazed as you that
I even picked up a book, let alone read it!). Having met Nick Frost many months
ago, I finally finished his autobiography and really enjoyed it. The other book
of choice was by Geoffrey Beevers (yes, a Doctor Who actor, how did you guess
dear reader?). ‘The Progress Road’ follows Mr Lyttle as he struggles to be
reunited with his children, and is a fascinating critique of society. Perhaps not
what I’d normally read, but I was enthralled.
Obviously
the highlight of the week was Doctor Who (did Christmas happen as well?). Christmas
was a very relaxed affair as ever, with grandparents and an aunt (we’ve got
loads in the garden, not sure we needed another one) popping round for the day.
It was lovely to see them, as it had been quite a while since I’d last seen
them. For me the day finished off with a rather brilliant Doctor Who episode; possibly
my favourite Christmas story and reminds me just how good Alex Kingston is.
As I said
dear reader, it has been very quiet, so there’s not much else to report, apart from
the fact that attempt number three of mince pies went far better, but I think I
got a bit carried away and made far too many, oh well.
