London theatre again
I could quite easily copy and paste last week’s entry in all
honesty dear reader as this week was much the same. Having said that we did
have a day of very localised heavy snow which was fun as that was our one day
of location filming (nothing like a challenge).
Snow aside I headed off to London (not quite as planned, but
that’s a long story) on Saturday for a new theatre, for all of us, the Menier Chocolate
Factory. This week’s show was ‘The Bay at Nice’, a beautifully designed and
written four-hander exploring the value of art, relationships and freedom all
within the confines of the Soviet Union which made for an interesting setting.
It was only 75 minutes, which flew by, with great performances from all the
cast, particularly Penelope Wilton who never left the stage. Having arrived
early we managed to meet all the cast beforehand who were all delightful, particularly
Penelope. The theatre is as the name suggests an old chocolate factory so it
made for an interesting space and it was easy to forget we were in London.
After, as is tradition, we found somewhere for a pizza, before heading back our
respective ways (for a change not that late).
Sunday (see what I mean about last week), was spent in work,
finishing things off at the location that had been snowed on during the week. Thankfully
it wasn’t too busy or long a day but it was nice to be outside in the Sun so I
can’t complain.
