Christmas at home (just)

After a busy week in London, Monday saw me travel back up north after a very relaxing and fun time with Joaquin and Martin; despite travelling on Christmas Eve it was very easy.

Due to a late trip back on Monday, Christmas day for me started at about 11.30 (unlike me to say the least), but then clearly I needed the sleep. Having dashed around for the last week or so it was nice to have a few quieter days to look forward to with everyone. Christmas was very relaxing, not really doing a great deal (isn't that partly what it's all about?). However, it didn't take me long before I started to feel ill (always the way!).

Anyway, a cold aside, Boxing Day was quiet again, with a trip to see 'Holmes and Watson' at the cinema, the latest take on the famous pair, in a comic version with a great cast. Having been to the cinema (first trip in sometime), we went to the RSC on Thursday for 'A Christmas Carol'. Having been all over the place before Christmas I finally felt festive in the beautiful setting of Stratford with its Christmas lights (little late I know). Making a relaxing afternoon of it before hand, the show was great; very cleverly done, beautifully designed and very festive. For once a trip to the stage door wasn't needed (rare I know).

Having been in the same, place for just over three days I was back down to Cardiff on Friday after what felt like ages (good to be busy) with an evening to setting back in I had an early trip to Bristol on Saturday to pick up Martin (from Bristol) for a trip to the RSC (Barbican not Stratford) to see the Scottish play which I'd sadly missed earlier in the year. This would also be my first trip to the Barbican which was an experience it itself and one that I enjoyed. The show was brilliant, very modern and sinister, with a fantastic (see what I did there) performance from Christopher Eccleston as the title character; very down to earth, very troubled. After a meal out, Martin and I headed back to Bristol, despite neither of us feeling too well (not due to the food I should add), but certainly having had a great day.

After a busy week, Sunday was the first chance of a proper rest, doing absolutely nothing for a change.
