Musings return/continue

Well at long last I have written something and it feels like ages. I'm sure no-one will still be reading but if you are hello and thanks. In terms of things that I can't talk about they're still going and should be for another few months. However I can at last talk about 'Apostle' which was out on 14th October and seems to be well received, however it is for the time being only on Netflix. Having worked on it Easter two years ago, it is great that it is finally our, but it doesn't half seem like a long time ago! Also out this month is the ITV series I did a few weeks of work experience on called 'Dark Heart', due to start within the next few weeks. Its a more conventional detective series to say the least and should be good.

I could fill in the gaps between this and my last musings, however it has somewhat merged into one, but it is safe to say I've done a fair few conventions and met a lot of charming people.

This weekend was as ever busy (intentionally, I can't sit still for long). Saturday, I popped up to Stratford to meetup with Mum and Dad to see 'Troilus and Cressida' (a new one for me, unless Shakespeare has not long written it). It was a very leisurely day, with chance to enjoy Stratford both before and after the show and perfect weather for it too. The show itself was as ever beautifully designed and staged although I will admit I was lost at times, but I think I've got the gist of most of it (either that or I've got a different version of it entirely!). It was so nice not only to return to Stratford but also to catch-up with Mum and Dad, and to make a leisurely day of it (we even made it into a few charity shops).

I returned to Cardiff and headed straight out to the WMC (the joys of being down at the bay) to meet Martin and Gary after their 'Evening with Joanna Lumley's as I'd said I'd show them where the stage door was. Low and behold she came out and took the time to meet everyone, myself included (what a fraud I am!) after which Martin and Gary (Joanna had to head off sadly) to the flat for a catch-up and a cuppa, always a nice way to finish a day.

Having seen them on Saturday night I had an early start on Sunday to meet Martin and Gary again in Bristol before taking them across to London. Some months ago Martin had been sat with June Hudson (legendary costume designer) at an event, and I have been trying to organise a date when we were all free. We met June and her sister Jill for lunch and spent the afternoon chatting about some of June's work for Martin's radio programme. It was such a delight to be able to spend time with June and talk to her about her early work which I'd not heard her talk of before. Sadly, time was against us and we had to head back, but it made for such a lovely day. Upon our return to Bristol, Martin cooked and the three of use enjoyed Sunday's episode of Who. Incidentally I appear briefly in Martin's show this week, available to listen to here (https://bcfmradio.com/nostalgia?fbclid=IwAR3bW3oZTMTSSi_yQVtDTNv6JJSVaPSlSN_ZoP_tpaYO4_ef2Wdar8q-bLw  of which I'm in the 23.10.2018 episode).

I think it is safe to say it has been a rather busy, but enjoyable weekend, which felt like an opportune time to return to musings from this Muppet.
