The Wedding Singer & Who

I should perhaps start by apologizes for the rather poor title this week dear reader, I struggled to think of anything (suggestions are welcome in the comments below).

As is often the case, college has been rather uneventful, with projects ticking along nicely. I'm now doing another project on television, in particular how it has changed over the years. It is taking longer than planned as I am reading articles out of enjoyment more than anything.

Tuesday night Jess and I went to see ‘The Wedding Singer’. The program tells me it was based on a film which was news to me, as I'd never heard of it. Anyway the songs were annoyingly catchy and made for a very enjoyable show. So good in fact that we went again the following night with Sam and Prema and enjoyed it all over again (that never happens, especially if it’s a musical!).

A pair of Voords - the ever charming Peter Stenson and Martin Cort
The rest of the week was rather uneventful with college work, however as you’d probably expect dear reader I wandered off come the weekend, this time to Sheffield (I know, how exotic!). Saturday was a day event, which meant a surprisingly early start from home (up north not Cardiff) for a great day. As seems to be the norm at the moment, I helped out, so spent most of the day in the green room, in the delightful company of the guests and other helpers. I spent most of the day talking to John Levine and Richard Franklin; a joy as ever, not forgetting Katy Manning. As well as chatting to the U.N.I.T. family I finally met in person Martin Cort and Kay Patrick. Both actors I had spoken to last year regarding the industry (semi-professional, semi-Doctor Who based) and have been in fairly regular contact with Martin ever since. So Sheffield was an unexpected chance to meet them in person. Both were as charming and chatty as I had hoped. The day was very busy for all involved, but great fun. As ever, with the end of the event came the end of my trip up north and I headed back to Cardiff, for a Sunday spent catching up on normality.
