Star Wars, more Star Wars and guess what, even more Star Wars!
Dear reader, as you may have guessed from the title, the
focus of this week has been a certain science fiction film (no not Star Trek)
as we progress the BA1 project.
We are now two weeks away from the Star Wars evening, and
have spent the last week redrawing the Bute; our main theatre space (I just
drank tea again, Cait was left to do the drawing, which I think I can safely
say has driven her mad!). However, when it came to Thursday (four versions
later), we decided to scrap the idea of the cantina and dress it as a space hangar/port
(Cait wasn’t too happy). I have now been given my role and no longer have to
think about the Bute (yay), so we shall see what happens this coming week.
Beyond Star Wars, I can’t think a great deal has happened
this week. On Friday I finally managed to see the new Bond film, which was
rather good, if a bit silly in places.
Saturday was another convention (yay) in Chiswick. This week’s
installment of #Mooreontour was another trip to Chiswick for ‘The Underwater
Menace’ DVD signing. As ever, it was a fantastic event, but I was particularly pleased
to meet Quentin Mann, who was the Floor Manager for the story. We spent a good
while talking about the challenges of his role and his experiences of the industry,
which was interesting, as it very much relates to what I’m faffing around with
during the week. The evening was of course spent watching Doctor Who, which was
brilliant! I was glad to see the Zygons very much retained their classic qualities
and design.
As I sit here writing this, I have no clue what I’ve done
today, bar playing cards and wandering through Bute park (although both were
very enjoyable).
That dear reader is what I’ve been up to this week, sorry
that it wasn’t more exciting (but next week could be even worse!).
